Vets of the day

Some veterans I know locally here in California and are fantastic people. They had the courage to serve the armed forces of the United States of America, and deserve our respect. I'm always happy they came back to lead great lives here at home as well

Chuck Devore

Rodney Stanhope

Jorge Riley

Norman Reece

and a great man out in Virginia, Bob Parks

let's not forget a good friend of mine CURRENTLY serving in the Military,  a fellow Californian based out of Texas

Jerry Silva

we really can never thank our military enough for what they've sacrificed

"Operation Christmas For Our Troops" a HUGE success

my friend, Rodney Stanhope's organization, Yellow Ribbon America, pulled off a christmas miracle after looking pretty grim

I was there for days 1 and 7, putting in 12 hour days to help, and 8 or 9 hours another day, finally putting in 4 or more hours helping to pack up things then transporting them to my friend's home

my toy drive photos

Day 1

Day 7

I later talked to Rodney and he told me "get me more media coverage!". So I barnstormed through the local news stations, calling channel 3, channel 10, and channel 13, giving each newsroom a concerned ear full of why Rodney needed more media coverage . since channel 10 helped put the word out, my friend went from almost not being able to deliver toys to ALL the military families, to having likely a SURPLUS thanks to the News10 viewers

it was an absolutely killer feeling to know this was accomplished, and I'm very proud of the help I was able to render to the cause.

Military imposter busted..

I haven't the foggiest as to why guys like Steven Douglas Burton would WANT to BE a fraud and be something they aren't temporarily

(Dec. 14) -- Steven Douglas Burton wore the Marine Corps uniform proudly. He had rows of medals, including a prestigious Navy Cross, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.

He posted a photo of himself in uniform and blogged about serving one tour of duty in Afghanistan and four in Iraq. He was at the Battle of Fallujah, he said, and praised the doctors who "patched us up."

But Burton wasn't a hero. He was a fraud who purchased medals online.
A scam that began two years ago when Burton wore a Marine Corps uniform as a Halloween party costume ended Monday with a guilty plea in federal court in Riverside, Calif.

Burton, a 39-year-old bank employee from Palm Springs, was unmasked after he wore the uniform of a Marine lieutenant colonel to his 20-year high school reunion. A classmate who was a Navy commander became suspicious of his story, got him to pose for a photo and handed it over to the FBI.

Burton pleaded guilty to a single count of the unauthorized wearing of a military medal. He faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine for violating the Stolen Valor Act, which prohibits wearing an unearned medal or falsely claiming to have earned one.

"The defendant was wearing some of the highest military honors given in this country for valor," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Akrotirianakis, who prosecuted the case. "He never served in the military."

what a fucking IDIOT. He deserves to have the [law] book physically thrown at him..
Here's a guy who has ACTUALLY served in the military and has solid perspective. Retired Navyman, Mr. Bob Parks. This was from 2007

Service

One of my favorite Conservative writers, Bob Parks, is a retired navyman

he describes his service and other things in this video from 2007, his response to the State of the Union and Democrat "response"

Anniversary..OO-RAH!

Today marks the 234th anniversary of the creation of the United States Marine Corps.

They've fought countless battles, lost countless comrades-in-arms, but at the same time done an incalculable amount of good for the Unites States of America and Freedom in general abroad

We can never thank you enough

still not buying what he's selling

Neither are some U.S. Troops as one Army Major is challenging the right of the Messiah to send him to Afghanistan

Bob Parks, Phil Berg, Andy Martin, and Alan Keyes were right - we're dealing with an illegal president

Patriotism of the Day

regarding our Founding Fathers..

and regarding the retired military perspective from Bob Parks

as screwed up as the Country has become, not only because of Obama and other Democrat cronies over the years, along with bad apples in the Republican party, I still love my Country, and damn it..I've always been proud of my country. Screw Michelle Obama being "proud" only when her husband was ahead in the polls in Summer 2008.

This country needs "change" alright - the destruction of the Democrat Party for starters...

I am Republican for a reason and I am DAMN PROUD of it

editor's note: both of Bob's segments are from a few years ago
